Four Acres Living
Bring Nature Home
Why We Do What We Do
Our Mission
Create with Nature
We love to cultivate the best nature has to offer and create items that are practical and valued. We breed and raise alpacas for clothing and other products. We grow a garden full of flowers that we can use to dye our alpaca yarn. And we cultivate herbs and flowers to offer our customers fresh from the farm products. This is nature at its best and most useful and we love being fully engaged with it.
Share the Beauty
Alpacas are beautiful animals and everyone who visits them here leaves with a smile and a lighter step. As we keep growing our offerings, whether it’s new alpaca designs, herb mixes from our garden or just a demonstration of dyeing our yarn we’ll continue to share so you too can bring nature home.
Be Sustainable
Every bit of alpaca fiber we grow has a purpose and gets used. Their manure nourishes our gardens. And we grow plants to dye our yarn. We take pride in using nature’s resources mindfully and sustainably.
Why Alpacas
Our Alpacas
Sustainability
Alpacas are considered one of the most eco-friendly animals in the world. Their soft pads on the bottom of their feet don’t tear up pastures. They eat in such a way that they don’t rip up grass by the roots. The fleece they grow is biodegradable and won’t spend centuries in a landfill.
Luxury Quality
Garments made with alpaca are extremely soft to the touch. You won’t feel itchy or prickly wearing alpaca. Alpaca has a unique drape to it and wrinkles can just be shaken out. Did we mention lightweight? You don’t need a lot of bulk to wear warm alpaca.
Performance Quality
Alpaca fiber is naturally stronger and warmer than wool. It also doesn’t need as much washing. Because alpacas don’t produce lanolin in the fiber (unlike sheep) the fiber does not attract dirt and microbes. Just air out your garment after wearing and it’ll be ready to wear again the next day.

What our Customers Say...

We were in Delaware for our yearly Greyhounds Reach the Beach adventure. We thoroughly enjoyed touring the farm and walking the Alpacas. Elaine and Jose were so enthusiastic about their work and their animals. Highly recommend.
Barbara -
Had a great time seeing the Alpacas and learned tons about them on the tour. Guide Elaine was wonderful, as were the owners.
Laurence -
A friend saw them selling goods at a farmers market and learned they gave tours. We were all visiting from MA and when She told us about it we booked too! Wonderful afternoon walking Alpacas and learning so much from Jose. I highly recommend.
Kelly -
Did a tour today and found the guide extremely informed as well as warm and humorous. Learned about alpaca shearing, including the 12 colors of fleece, and how the fibers are processed. The alpacas are extremely curious and we got to know them by name as we toured pens. The gift shop had a fun diversity of items made from alpaca fibers as well as other creative projects made by one of the owners, who is artistic. The farm uses sustainable practices. Highly recommend.
